BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, 21 April 2008 - Rider Levett Bucknall, a leading property and construction cost consultancy firm, was inspired by the "We the People" theme of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2008 National Convention and Design Exposition to give back to the Greater Boston community.
As an exhibitor at the 2008 AIA Convention and Design Expo (May 15-17 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center), Rider Levett Bucknall plans to make a more meaningful and constructive use of its tradeshow dollar. For every Convention attendee that stops by their booth in the exhibit hall, Rider Levett Bucknall will donate the dollar equivalent of 10 meals to The Greater Boston Food Bank.
Through partnerships with financial donors, food donors, volunteers, and community organizations, The Greater Boston Food Bank distributes approximately 30 million pounds of food and grocery products to more than 320,000 people annually in eastern Massachusetts. As the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and one of the largest in the country, The Food Bank provides food and grocery products to a network of over 600 member hunger-relief agencies-local food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless and residential shelters, youth programs, senior centers, and day-care centers-so they can feed the hungry in the Greater Boston area.
Rider Levett Bucknall is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to The Greater Boston Food Bank in order to help fund the beneficial programs it champions and supports and to raise awareness of its mission.
Grant Owen, Rider Levett Bucknall Senior Vice President and Principal of its local Boston office said, "As a firm, Rider Levett Bucknall has always placed high importance on supporting the communities in which we live and work. We're pleased to have the chance to try and make a difference for those in need in the Boston area."
